The Myths, Dangers, and Science of Vaping Nicotine and Cannabis
Nicotine and cannabis vapes have proliferated in our communities at staggering rates. Both industries have been able to create and advertise a narrative about the use, safety, and potential health benefits of these products that has been widely accepted by consumers.
Scientists are only beginning to describe and understand the long-term health implications of vaping. In this session, learn about what we know about the design of vape products, their chemical formulations, and the potential health impacts associated with their use.
You’ll learn about acute adverse events reported by consumers and the emerging scientific data demonstrating long-term negative health impacts. Data will also be presented illustrating the proliferation of vapes in our communities, as demonstrated by products collected on school premises.
