Andrea Gouripaga

Hi, I’m Andrea Gouripaga. I’m a senior at Cuba High School in Cuba, New Mexico. I’ve been a part of Evolvement, a youth-led program focused on nicotine prevention, for the past four years, serving on the Leadership team for three of those years. I truly believe in the advocacy work we do because it’s so important to stop the harm tobacco is causing our communities.

Growing up, I watched my grandpa’s smoking addiction get worse by the year, and I’ve seen many of my close friends go through the same addiction cycle. After I graduate from high school, I plan to attend the University of New Mexico to eventually become a Pediatrician. Every year, kids start smoking at a younger age, and I hope to educate young minds early on to prevent lifelong nicotine addictions.
